Pizza Dough & Bread Sticks

  • 1-1/2 c warm water (110-115 degrees)
  • 1 Tb sugar
  • 1 Tb yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 to 4-1/2 c flour (will vary based on your altitude, humidity, etc)
In a large bowl, combine water, sugar, and yeast. Let stand 10 minutes or until bubbly. Add salt and stir. Add 1-1/2 c flour and mix well. Gradually add more flour until dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl and barely sticks to your finger. Spray a glass or metal bowl and place dough inside. Cover and let rise 45 minutes or until double in size. Roll out and place on pizza pan, let rise another 10-15 minutes then put toppings on and bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

For bread sticks: Place dough on floured surface and roll into rectangle. Cut into 12 thin strips. Roll into snakes and then twist the ends. Place on a sprayed sheet. Cover and let rise 30 minutes. Bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes. Drizzle melted butter or olive oil on top and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Cinnamon and sugar is also a good topping!
